3Rs Day 15.2.2017 Graz

The first meeting of the RepRefRed Society took place on 15th of February 2017 with the active participation of researchers, animal breeders, veterinarians and representatives of the Federal Ministries of Science and Health.

For the first time, the 3Rs Society organised a whole day with the aim of ensuring compliance with the 3Rs in preclinical research.

80 participants were involved from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to discuss the reduction, replacement, improvement and reproducibility of animal experiments.

This was followed by a first meeting of the animal protection committees, together with representatives of the Federal Ministry of Science and official veterinarians.

In the course of this meeting, it was decided, among other things, to standardize university education in accordance with §19 TVG as amended. The 3R Society will organise a follow-up seminar of the animal protection bodies in Vienna in late summer 2017.
