Online Seminar Series: A Challenging Way to Animal Free Cell Culture
Summary:
Cell culture is the most important method to avoid, reduce or even replace animal experiments. However, working in cell culture without animal additives is hardly possible, as it often seems easier and cheaper. An innovative cooperation at the Medical University of Graz provides easy access to human platelet lysate (hPL). In a joint project, a hPL application was achieved in the form of establishing a melanoma cell line. This project is intended to pave the way towards FBS replacement right at the beginning of cell isolations and cell culture.
